Easy configuration of a news source with the Page Wizard

Web Screen Saver now includes a easier way to display all linked pages from a start URL. This is especially interesting if this start URL is a news source.

This new feature called the "Page Wizard" just need this start URL. From the content of this start URL, this wizard will set any parameters in the Page properties dialog box.

From this time, you will get a constantly updated screensaver from the news source provided.

Follow this procedure to use the "Page Wizard": Page wizard

  • Open the Configuration dialog box and switch to the "Pages" tab.
  • Insert a new page with the "Insert" button. The Page properties is displayed.
  • Select the "List of pages or files from a start URL (Value file)" page type in the drop-down listbox.
  • Type the address of the start URL. This web page, usually a site home page, will be read to find the page list.
  • Click on the "Page Wizard" button to make Web Screen Saver computes all other settings: Page wizard
  • For validation of these settings, you can click on the "Display page list" button to get the page list found at the given URL: Display page list
  • Click OK to save settings for the current page.
  • Click OK in the Configuration dialog box to save settings.

The screensaver mode is launched. Relevant pages found in the start URL will be displayed in the screensaver page loop.

When new content is published on the home page, Web Screen Saver automatically retrieves its address and includes this new page in the automatic page loop.

This page wizard works with many news providers through regular HTML pages or RSS feeds.
